HR Culture Trends - Summer 2025

The 5 Key Pillars of Culture Companies Are Investing In

At Honch, we track millions of social media posts and job adverts every month to understand how companies talk about themselves and what they invest in. This gives us a live picture of the cultural priorities shaping workplaces today.

This insight helps to steer marketing and sales campaigns to HR buyers in companies that have different sets of priorities. It allows you to connect with the right buyers, at the right time, with the right message.

From analysing millions of posts from July and August, there are 5 cultural pillars that companies are prioritising:

1. Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB)

Organisations are celebrating cultural heritage, building inclusive leadership programmes, and recognising that diversity drives better problem-solving. From marking South Asian Heritage Month to embedding employee networks for underrepresented groups, inclusion is being translated into action.

748 companies promoted DEIB in August, including Tate & Lyle, UBS, Howden, Legal & General, and Experian.
2. Wellbeing and Mental Health

Wellbeing is being treated as a core cultural pillar. Companies are providing mental health support, flexible working, and family-friendly policies. Self-care initiatives, work-life balance campaigns, and wellness month activations are increasingly central to employee experience.

1,885 companies focused on wellbeing in August, including Serco, Fujitsu, Arcadis, Nestlé, BAT, and Schroders.

3. Sustainability and Purpose

Sustainability is being embedded into operations and culture, with organisations committing to environmental responsibility and transparency. Many are addressing issues like circular economy practices and “green hushing,” ensuring their purpose feels authentic and credible.

5,600 companies promoted sustainability in August, including Diageo, Mars, AstraZeneca, Jaguar Land Rover, and Lego.

4. Leadership and Growth

Leadership development is being positioned as a cultural foundation. Organisations are encouraging growth mindsets, investing in learning, and embedding values into everyday decisions. Collaboration, creativity, and communication are common themes.

2,300 companies highlighted leadership and growth in August, including M&S, Mars, Vistry, Viasat, Holland & Barrett, and IBM.

5. Innovation and Technology

Technology is now a cultural enabler. Organisations are deploying AI tools, launching foresight platforms, and driving digital transformation initiatives. Importantly, innovation is being tied to inclusion and collaboration, not just efficiency.

More than 2,900 companies discussed innovation and technology in August, including Flutter, Capita, THG, SharkNinja, Mitie, Kyndryl, Serco, and Sony.
