Honch Data & Compliance Information 2026

Everything you need to know about how Honch collects, processes and maintains data accuracy.

Honch & GDPR

All data on Honch is processed under Legitimate Interest, which is one of the six lawful bases for processing personal data under GDPR.

How do we collect our data?

At Honch we have our own in-house product team made up of researchers and data scientists. We use a combination of manual processes and proprietary technology to build our product.

This is done in a number of stages:

  1. Track new decision-makers
Our researchers monitor hundreds of sources to identify senior decision-makers and new appointments.
  2. Match to official company records
We partner with Creditsafe, giving us access to UK Companies House records. Our software matches contacts to official company records and supplements them with company information where available.
  3. Build email addresses
Our systems create email addresses based on company email structures and domains. Addresses are then verified using multiple verification tools.
  4. Inform decision-makers
Before any contact is added to Honch, we email them in advance, outlining the information we hold, how it is used, and how they can request removal.
  5. Regular reminders
Every decision-maker receives a reminder every six months about their inclusion and their right to request removal.

How often do we clean our data?

Data within Honch goes through four separate validation processes:

  • Daily email checks - Email addresses are checked daily to ensure mailboxes still exist.
  • Monthly electronic verification - LinkedIn and company information is checked electronically to verify company names and positions remain accurate.
  • Quarterly manual verification - Every contact is manually re-verified every three months.
  • Semi-annual GDPR reminders - Every contact is reminded every six months about their inclusion within Honch.

How is our data so accurate?

Data accuracy and transparency are the most important parts of the Honch platform.

Many B2B data providers rely solely on email verification technology. While useful, verification tools alone cannot provide consistently high levels of accuracy due to the way company email servers are configured.

The most important part of our validation process is our ongoing communication with the decision-makers included within our platform. If emails cannot be delivered during this process, contacts are not included.

What should you do if a prospect asks where their data came from?

All clients receive a dedicated Honch contact email address when they become customers.

If a prospect asks where their details came from, simply advise them that you're a client of Honch Data Limited and ask them to contact us directly. We will then manage the conversation on your behalf.

Recommended approach:
We advise all clients to list Honch as a data supplier within their privacy policy and always be as transparent as possible regarding data sources.
